RESTAURANTS IN PUNE

ARTHUR'S THEME

Arthur's Theme located in the east of Pune (Koregaon Park) is a brain child of Chef Navtej Sawhney. This is a quiet European restaurant with a historical ambiance. This 80 seater restaurant serves traditional European fare and the dishes served here are from countries like France, England, Italy, Greece, Spain, etc. Even though you get a different spread of meats in this restaurant like duck, beef, turkey, bacon, chicken etc vegans too have ample of dishes to select from. The dishes served here have European name too after the great historians like Alexander, Don Quixote, Queen Elizabeth, etc. What I ordered was a duck dish with orange sauce called 'Saxon'. The duck was cooked to perfection and was melting in my mouth. My friend ordered Konrad I (Chunk of fish cooked in Cajun on a bed of stir fried zucchini topped with a lemon butter sauce). The food was mind boggling and scrumptious. The cherry on the cake was the Tiramisu. If I want to have a good quality time with my friends and family this restaurant will hold a top priority.

11 EAST STREET
11 East Street cafe located on the east street of camp is a multi cuisine restaurant which serves global cuisine. The ambience of this place is beautiful. It is based on the theme "a London Street". The restaurant is divided into two areas, on two different floors. Both the areas give a different feel altogether and are fancy in their own way. The lower floor is like a London Street. There are showpieces like the Englishman standing at a corner, which gives you the real feel. The beautiful water fountain at the entry adds to the beauty, while the small telephone booth on the entry gate and a double decker bus are just the perfect elements required to complete the theme. The upper floor is more like a hookah place with small hut type structures. It is advisable to go to the upper area if you are a large group of friends. The double decker bus is actually a confectionery shop selling bakery products. As this is a multi cuisine restaurant there are ample of vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian dishes to choose from. My personal favourite is the 'Meat Overload Pizza'. Health conscious people can try the 'Prawns and Sherry Salad'. 'Grilled Jacket Fish' is a delicious main. 'Palm Tree Prawns' is a delight for the eyes as well as the tongue. There is a variety of desserts available too. 'Red Velvet Chocolate Brownie' is just out of the world. 'Oreo Cheese Cake' is delicious too. The service is attentive. In spite of its not being air conditioned, this place is worth a visit. This is a great hangout for teenagers and a good meeting point for everyone else.

RESTAURANTS IN GOA

1) VIVANTA BY TAJ FORT AGUADA - IL CAMINO
Allora! All Italian! If that's what you want, this is the place. The illumination, the paintings on the wall and the chimney in the centre of the restaurant add to the rustic charm. 'Il Camino' means 'The Chimney' in Italian. The circular shape of the restaurant gives it an easy flowing feel. Adding to the latest innovations is the open show kitchen where a large pizza oven bakes delightful thin crust pizzas. The Italian food spread features a huge array of antipasti, soups and mains along with a variety of desserts. The restaurant has a large French window overlooking the Arabian Sea. The Sea Food Marinara Pasta is a must try accompanied by a Rose Lemonade. As this restaurant is managed by the Vivanta group, it is a little pinch to the pocket but is value for money.

2) VIVANTA BY TAJ HOLIDAY VILLAGE - CARAVELA
Kastache! Authentically Goan! Caravela is an authentic Goan cuisine restaurant located at the serene beach of Sinquerim (North Goa). It is in the premises of Vivanta by Taj Holiday Village. Chef Rego is the Executive Chef of this restaurant. He has a culinary experience of 35 years. Chef Rego has cooked for many great personalities like Shah Rukh Khan, George Bush, etc. It was a privilege to meet such a great personality. He himself cooked for me and my family. Caravela spoils you for choice by offering a fascinating range of delicious Goan cuisine. Lemon Grass infused Rock Lobster Bisque is an amazing dish. Balchao Naan is a great accompaniment with King Fish Goan Curry. The Sea Food Platter still rules the roost- an assortment of grilled mussels, squids(calamari), crab, fish and prawns. The Goan curries are also worth a taste- Caldin, Balchao, Xacutti and Vindaloo. The roast chicken is also made is Goan style too. The traditional Goan dessert Bebinca is worth a try. All of these dishes accompanied by a refreshing Mojito is a cherry on the cake.
